He graduated in Art Education in São Paulo in 2004.In 2005 he moved to London, where he opened the internationally acclaimed Black Garden Tattoo and worked for 10 years. Throughout this time, Rodrigo developed an extensive collage practice, which has recently unfolded into painting that uses collating methods of composition. Selecting cut-outs of cartoons and characters from children’s stories, he reassembles them into sexually suggestive fragmented images, that explore the boundaries between painting and collage.
